What did you think of A Shop for Killers Season 2 Episodes 3 & 4? Did they meet your expectations, or did they completely surprise you?

Part 1: Jian’s New Life and Her Relationship with Woojin

The story follows Jeong Jian, who just wants to live a simple and peaceful life. After everything that happened in Season 1, she leaves her uncle, Jeong Jinman, at the beginning of Season 2 and moves far away. She quietly starts a new life there and has been living peacefully for almost a year.

Throughout Episodes 3 and 4, Jian spends more and more time with a young man named Woojin. Within just a few days, the two grow closer. For the first time in a long while, Jian starts trusting someone again. She also begins opening up to the kind aunties in the village and slowly starts showing affection toward the people around her.
I honestly didn’t expect Woojin and Jian to be this cute and heartwarming. Because of him, Jian started smiling again. She spent time enjoying the simple life she had always dreamed of. I was genuinely happy that Jian finally found a community where she could live like a normal person.

After everything she went through a year ago, trusting Woojin wasn’t easy. She was deeply traumatized. But our sweet Woojin earned her trust and truly cared for her. And honestly, having a boyfriend was never on my A Shop for Killers bingo card. I really thought he would betray her, just like that guy did in Season 1. But OMG… I’m loving this so much.
The two of them shared so many adorable moments together. Jian looked so much more relaxed whenever she was with Woojin.

Dear Woojin, I’m sorry for doubting you at the beginning, and thank you for making Jian smile, helping her experience the warmth of a real community, and protecting her until the very end.
It’s like I could tell that Woojin probably wasn’t evil and that the series was simply trying to make us suspicious of him. But when the truth finally came out… I was in tears.
A boy who was raised with love by the entire island only wanted to return that love one day and protect someone precious to him. Why did fate have to be so cruel?

Part 2: The Attack by Babylon and Minhye’s Arrival

But that happiness didn’t last long.
Babylon’s people eventually tracked Jian down. Three mercenaries were sent to capture her alive, and Jian fought back brilliantly against all of them.
Just as she was about to finish them off, two of the attackers were suddenly shot dead.
Tada… it was none other than Unnie Minhye!
I literally screamed because she arrived at the perfect moment, just like she did last time. Minhye didn’t come to play. She’s honestly one of the most amazing mercenaries in this series.

After saving Jian, Minhye tells her to pack her things because staying there is no longer safe. Soon after, another enemy team arrives, and they fight them before escaping. Minhye sends Jian away with Woojin so they can reach the boat while she holds the enemies back.
But the danger catches up to them once again.
While Jian, Woojin, and Minhye are on the boat, tragedy strikes.
Good things don’t last forever.

Woojin is shot in the chest. Jian breaks down in tears while Minhye desperately fights off the attackers.
Jian and Woojin deserved a much better ending than this.
With his final breath, Woojin tells Jian,
«”I told you that not even a single hair on your head would be harmed. See… I kept my promise.”»
Woojin’s death will become Jian’s biggest reason to seek revenge against Babylon for stealing her youth and leaving her emotionally scarred. This time, she won’t stand by and lose another person who gave his life to protect her.

Part 3: Jinman’s Return and Final Thoughts

Then comes one of the most emotional scenes of the episode.
After losing Woojin, Jian desperately calls out Jinman’s name three times, just like he once told her to.
«”If you think you’re in danger, shout my name to the sky three times: Jong Jinman, Jong Jinman, Jong Jinman. Then I might just show up there.”»
And just like the old days…
He came.
AHHH… PEAK CINEMA.
Jinman kept the promise he made to Jian all along.
Everyone in this story has lost someone they loved. Some sacrificed everything to protect the people they cared about, while others only took advantage of that pain.
And… that relieved look on Jinman’s face after seeing Jian safe and alive.
How would Jeong Jinman feel if he ever found out that Jian once believed her own uncle had never truly loved her?
Jian doesn’t want power, revenge, or money.

She just wants a quiet, normal life. She wants to fall in love, walk down the street without looking over her shoulder, and stop worrying about being chased by armed killers.
That heartbreaking scream from Jian completely shattered me.
The saddest part is that Jian was suspicious of Woojin at first, but he turned out to be one of the few genuinely good people in her life. He even kept his promise to protect her. They had only just found happiness, especially Jian, who had finally started living the normal life she always wanted.
But fate had other plans.
And honestly…
I never expected J to be killed off this early. I was hoping there would be a plot twist where J would help Jinman again after everything Jinman had done for him.
Now I have to wait another week for Episodes 5 and 6.
I seriously can’t wait.
